Got our kicks on Route 66

Today's view:

Today is going to have to be a crappy, short post. Sorry. It's late (11:30pm Arizona time, which is apparently the same as Pacific time during the summer because of their rejection of daylight savings time), and we need to get up early. We are staying at a campground on Glen Canyon Recreation Area/Lake Powell/Page, Arizona, and we actually have a really nice view of the lake and the stars from here. We also have free internet, which is a bonus. We drove to the Petrified forest national park/Painted Desert, which was beautiful. We only had an hour or so to spend there, and we actually felt really guilty rushing through the place. We made our way to Flagstaff, got our kicks on Route 66, and tried to find an old favorite (Fazoli's) that our GPS insisted was on the other side of town. We eventually found it, abandoned/closed, and wasted about an hour driving through the traffic on route 66 and generally getting lost. We made it up to Page, AZ, and drove over the Glen Canyon Dam, one of the largest dams in the country. Tomorrow we are waking up early and heading to the Grand Canyon.
